Sport and play

We aim to use our partnership to maximise the impact that a high quality physical education and school sport experience can make on young people's physical, social and cognitive development, their well-being and level of achievement.

We are doing this by pooling our PE funding. Since 2013, the government provides extra funding, typically £9,250per primary school, to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport in maintained and state-funded primary schools.

The schools in the 4 Learning Partnership decided to combine our money, to organise a range of sporting opportunities for our students that we wouldn't otherwise have been able to. These range from gymnastics to sailing, basketball to dry ski-ing. We also organize regular inter-schools competitions. Check out the gallery page to see some of our children in action.

We further improve access to sports by identifying children who show particular talent and potential and signposting them to external sporting clubs within their local community.
